Introduction
IntelliFontIME
for sinhala is
a IME
(Input Method Editor) that uses an exciting new input method for
typing Sinhalese characters with minimum effort using conventional
keyboard.
The
problem typing Sinhalese characters before was user must remember the
current character code for Sinhala characters, there was no any
connection between Sinhala, and corresponding English characters . This
software has overcome these limitations when using Sinhala fonts by
using an object-oriented approach.
IntelliFontIME uses an advanced Input method engine that will enable any windows
application to use the typing assistance without using a specially
designed word processor.It works with existing Sinhala fonts
and
has the ability to work with new font with the Script editor that comes
with the software package.
Using
IntelliFontIME
1.Run IntelliFontIME by the start menu
or from desktop icon.
IME Control window will be displayed by default, in the upper right
corner of your screen.

If its not displayed press the Start/Toggle Sinhala IME hot key
(Default Alt+`)
or right click the tray icon and select the "Start/Toggle
Sinhala Input Method Editor" menu item.

2.Select DL-Araliya. Font

IME Candidates Window will be shown in the lower left corner of your
screen.

When this window is shown all the keyboard input will go through the
software so if you want to type normally, press the Start/Toggle
IME hot key (Default Alt+`) to toggle between Sinhala and English
typing.
Note: IME
Candidates window will only be displayed if the selected font is
installed in the system.
You can Change the displayed font size in the Options window refer to Option
Window Help for More Information.
Now the IntelliFontIME
is ready to type DL-Araliya.

3. Select DL-Araliya. font in the external software.

Note: You must toggle
to Direct typing to select the font by typing.
Now
you can type with IntelliFontIME.
Easy steps to typing
Sinhala with IntellifontIME
Rule
1.To type a Sinhala character press the keyboard key that has the
closest English pronunciation sound.
Rule
2.If a list of candidate characters are shown. Press
the same key repeatedly until you select the right Sinhala
character.
Rule
3. After selecting the Sinhalese character, you can
continue typing the next Sinhala key by using rule1.it will
hide the current
candidate window and display another candidate window depending on the
character typed.You also can
press space key to close current candidate window.

4.To type a modifier for a character press the arrow
key in the keyboard corresponding to the direction that a modifier
needs to be added. If more than one modifier is
supports for the particular direction a candidate window will be shown.
You can select the correct
modifier using rule2.

5.Apply Modifiers after the character except for the left modifier.

6.To apply the long modifier of a modifier (E.g. [ki,
Kee] [mi, Mee], [gi, gee]) press the arrow key with shift key pressed.

7.To type the symbol characters just use normal typing. (E.g. 0,1,2...9
,!@#$%^&*(),[]{};: etc)
If
you are using the IME
Candidates Window the typing word will be displayed in the IME
Candidates Window.

Completed Word

By
either
pressing Enter,Tab or Space will send these characters to the external
application.

Note:
Some applications that has the auto correct ability will auto
Capitalize the first letter of a word, so that the Sinhala word will be
typed incorrectly.If this occurs please disable the auto correction of
that software.
